Redding, California runs at its own pace. From the Sundial Bridge crossing the Sacramento River at Turtle Bay Exploration Park to the sweeping views of Shasta Dam in the Cascades, this North State city values independence and practicality. Healthcare professionals here expect the same from their training.
Safety Training Seminars brings Self-Guided Learning™ courses for BLS, ACLS, and PALS directly to Redding — a flexible, American Heart Association®-approved option that fits your schedule, not a classroom’s.
Self-Guided Learning™ combines two independent components: self-paced online learning and a self-guided skills session completed at a CPR Verification Station™ learning center.
You complete both parts on your own terms. No fixed class times. No group schedules. No instructor-led sessions.
Upon successful completion of both components, you receive an American Heart Association Course Completion eCard for BLS, ACLS, or PALS — accepted by hospitals, clinics, and healthcare facilities across California and nationwide.
The specific course offering is HeartCode® Complete, the American Heart Association’s Self-Guided Learning course format for BLS, ACLS, and PALS.*
HeartCode® is a trademark of the American Heart Association.
Redding’s healthcare community is anchored by two major hospitals: Mercy Medical Center Redding and Shasta Regional Medical Center. Both facilities employ nurses, physicians, EMTs, paramedics, and allied health professionals who need current American Heart Association course completion cards for employment, clinical rotations, and licensing.
Self-Guided Learning works especially well for:
Schedules in healthcare rarely follow a 9-to-5. Self-Guided Learning doesn’t either.
The process runs in three clear steps.
Log in to the HeartCode® Complete course and work through the cognitive content at your own pace on any compatible device — desktop, laptop, or tablet. BLS takes 1–2 hours. ACLS and PALS each take 2–3 hours.
The online component uses True Adaptive™ learning powered by Area9 Lyceum. This technology continuously assesses your knowledge and confidence, adjusting the content path based on what you already know. Spend less time on mastered topics. Focus more on gaps. The result is an efficient, personalized learning pathway built around you.
After finishing the online learning activity, schedule your self-guided skills session at the CPR Verification Station™ learning center at Safety Training Seminars in Redding, located at 1135 Pine Street, Suite 207.
At the station, you independently perform required hands-on skills — compressions, ventilations, and two-rescuer CPR sequences — using a Voice-Assisted Manikin (VAM). The CPR Verification Station learning center provides real-time, objective performance feedback on compression depth, recoil, rate, and ventilation. You can practice and repeat the required skills activities as needed to achieve a passing score.
There is no instructor present during this session. You guide yourself through the process with the support of the station’s audiovisual feedback system.
Once you successfully complete both components, you receive your American Heart Association Course Completion eCard the same day — for BLS, ACLS, or PALS. The eCard is valid for two years and meets AHA training requirements for employment, hospital credentialing, and clinical rotations.

I recently took the BLS class at Safety Training Seminars in Redding and was impressed by the clear instruction and hands on practice. Was able to schedule and complete within less than 2 days from the minute I looked it up! Incredible! AND I got my certificate in less than an hour from finishing!! If they would've had water available, cuz CPR is hard work! I would've given a 5, there wasn't even a water fountain in the bldg. And no way to charge my phone that died while calling them!!! I did figure it out, but with no one on site and help only on the phone (call or text) you'd think they would have something available. Other than that I highly recommend!
