If you work in healthcare in Redding, you know the drill. Every two years, your BLS, ACLS, or PALS card expires, and you have to scramble to find a class. Usually, this means sitting in a classroom for hours on your day off or trying to squeeze a skills session into an already packed shift.
But there is a better way. Safety Training Seminars now offers Self-Guided Learning™ courses right here in Redding at 1135 Pine St, Suite 207. This approach changes how you maintain your credentials. It moves away from rigid schedules and puts you in control of your time.
Self-Guided Learning™ is an educational modality from the American Heart Association® designed for busy professionals. It splits your training into two distinct parts:
This is not a traditional classroom course. It is also different from the older blended learning models where you had to wait for an instructor to watch you compress a manikin chest. With this new system, you do everything on your own schedule.
The online component uses True Adaptive™ learning powered by Area9 Lyceum. If you have ever sat through a standard online course, you know the frustration of clicking “next” through slides covering material you mastered a decade ago.
True Adaptive learning is different. It continuously assesses your knowledge and confidence levels in real-time. If you know the material, you move through it quickly. If you struggle with a specific algorithm or concept, the system slows down and provides targeted feedback to close that knowledge gap. This creates a personalized learning pathway that respects your experience as a healthcare provider.
Once you finish the online portion, you head to the Safety Training Seminars office on Pine Street. There, you will find a CPR Verification Station™ learning center.
This station is a voice-assisted manikin system connected to a computer. It provides real-time, objective performance feedback. You perform your compressions and ventilations, and the station measures your accuracy against American Heart Association guidelines.
There is no instructor watching over your shoulder. You perform the skills independently. If you don’t get it right the first time, the system tells you exactly what needs correction—whether it is depth, recoil, or rate—and lets you repeat the practice until you achieve competency.
It is important to understand exactly what you are signing up for. The course you will take is called HeartCode® Complete. This is a course-based model. You complete the curriculum, pass the skills, and receive your two-year provider card.
This is distinct from the Resuscitation Quality Improvement® (RQI®) program. RQI is a low-dose, high-frequency model used by some hospitals where staff practice skills quarterly at a station within their facility.
While both use similar simulation technology for skills, HeartCode Complete is the solution for individual professionals who need to renew their credentials independently of a hospital-based RQI program. If you are a travel nurse, a dentist, a paramedic, or a physician in private practice, HeartCode Complete at our Redding location is likely the option you need.
One of the biggest pain points with traditional training is waiting for your card. Sometimes instructors have to process paperwork, or rosters get lost.
With the Self-Guided Learning approach, that delay is eliminated. Because the CPR Verification Station learning center verifies your skills objectively and automatically, the system updates your record instantly.
Upon successful completion of both the online activity and the hands-on skills session, you are issued an American Heart Association Course Completion eCard immediately. You can claim it, download it, and email it to your employer before you even leave the parking lot at 1135 Pine St.
Note that we use the term “Course Completion eCard” rather than “certification.” While many people use the word certification colloquially, the American Heart Association officially issues Course Completion eCards to verify your successful training.
For medical professionals in Shasta County, convenience is key. The Safety Training Seminars office is centrally located in downtown Redding.
Location:
1135 Pine St, Suite 207
Redding, CA 96001
This local access means you don’t have to drive to Sacramento or the Bay Area for high-quality, flexible training. You can schedule your skills session during a lunch break, before your shift, or on a weekend morning. The CPR Verification Station allows for a level of flexibility that traditional instructor-led courses simply cannot match.
We offer the full suite of American Heart Association disciplines required for most healthcare roles:
The shift toward Self-Guided Learning represents a move toward competency-based education. It ensures that every provider meets the same objective standard. A human instructor might have a bad day or miss a subtle error in compression depth. The CPR Verification Station does not. It ensures that when you leave, your skills are sharp and compliant with the latest guidelines.
If you are ready to renew your BLS, ACLS, or PALS credentials without the hassle of a classroom, visit Safety Training Seminars. Register for a HeartCode Complete course, finish your online learning, and stop by our Pine Street office to verify your skills. It is efficient, effective, and built for the modern healthcare professional.

Was able to schedule and complete within less than 2 days from the minute I looked it up! Incredible! AND I got my certificate in less than an hour from finishing!! If they would've had water available, cuz CPR is hard work! I would've given a 5, there wasn't even a water fountain in the bldg. And no way to charge my phone that died while calling them!!! I did figure it out, but with no one on site and help only on the phone (call or text) you'd think they would have something available. Other than that I highly recommend!
